Bitters Kits for the Doshas
Bitters Kits for the Doshas
Make your own tasty Digestive Bitters
There is a long history of people using bitter herbs as digestive aids. Eaten as an important part of the diet, mixed into honey, or tinctured in alcohol. These kits are for an alcohol tincture (though you can substitute if you’d rather not use alcohol -more info in the kit).
Bitters have been traditionally used to help wake up the digestion, absorb nutrients, eliminate waste, ease bloating, heaviness, and tiredness after meals. Ease constipation, indigestion, heartburn, and support general wellbeing. They are also popular in cocktails and aperitifs:)
The kits include:
-The herbs you need
-The jar you make it in
-Dropper bottle
-Labels
-Info and instructions
So, everything you need to make bitters except the alcohol. It’s a super easy process. Just 5 mins to get it started. And then you let it infuse for about a month, shaking regularly, strain, and enjoy! This kit makes about 175 mls of bitters.
Choose from:
Vata ~ Chamomile, Cardamom, Ashwaganda. Grounding, warming, calming
Pitta ~ Dandelion, Rose, Hibiscus. Cooling, cleansing, soothing
Kapha ~ Orange, Cacao, Black Pepper. Heating, invigorating, uplifting
I collaborated with Jill Novak to put these formulas together. She is a wonderful Yoga and Ayurvedic practitioner and Coach here in Cochrane, and I encourage you to check out her offerings HERE
You don’t have to know your dosha to know which one to get. Think about how you have been feeling lately. Which one sounds like it would help bring balance? For instance, if you’ve been feeling cold, dry, and scattered, choose Vata. If you’ve been feeling inflamed and irritated, choose Pitta. If you’ve been feeling slow, low, and stagnant, choose kapha. Feel free to reach out if you have any questions!
